Other than betting on his team to win? This guy used to come to the local little league clinics. MMMM... I lived in Dayton till I was 12, followed the Big Red Machine till got down here and couldn't find them. WSWV in Pennington carried the games for a few years, got back into it a little, he is on the wrong guy. Reading books. The guy, Rose, came to the kid's camps in Cincy and Dayton. We are talking his whole career for me, history for someone else. Naw, I don't think you will sway me on this. Rose and Bench sold cars in the off-season cause they didn't make that much money...just like regular guys. That is what makes the oldtimes special, if Bench, Rose , Aaron- that group had been able to train all year? Rose got MVP one year, asked for more money- 100 grand to 107- Marge wouldn't go for it. Think about it, Nat. MVP, 7 grand, club wouldn't produce, but he didn't sell out on the town. This is what makes me sick about pro sports today. They wouldn't make a scratch on the old guys, community wise. I'd rather see the kids play at the high school level. They play for pride, that used to mean something in the pros ,too- but today's group are like the president, gimmie money!

Jordan gambles, the casinos in the Smokies are up and running? You got the wrong guy. Games are made to be wagered on, if that is what you want. Somebody said they made some cash from on-line poker, do you recall who? Rose didn't throw games.

I've also heard stories about how at those Little League Clinics every word was a four letter word as well. I love Pete's baseball career and reading about his life. He's my favorite Red ever, but Pete Rose was no saint.
